You need to register in Philhealth online.
Amidst all the pork barrel controversies and the political dynasty issues – not to mention the debates on the price of a cake (Magkano nga ba talaga?” – you may feel like losing faith in the government and totally ignoring all their programs.
Philhealth is an amazing government program that you need to take advantage of. Why? Unlike your TIN, your Philhealth has helpful benefits that can lessen your cost of hospitalization.
The best thing about it is that you don’t even need to go to Philhealth’s office anymore. No more commuting and falling in line? This sounds like my cup of tea! 🙂
1. Figure out what kind of Philhealth member you will register as.
You can use the Philhealth Registration System if you are a/an:
- Employed Member
- Overseas Filipino Worker
- Retirees in the Government and Private Sector
2. Collect your valid IDs and scan them first.
Later, when you fill out your information, you need to also upload your documents so that you’ll have faster processing when you register in Philhealth online.
Some examples of valid IDs are:
- Barangay Certification
- Birth Certificate
- Company ID
- Driver’s License
- Postal ID
- NBI Clearance
- HDMF ID
- SSS/GSIS card
3. Go to Philhealth’s Registration Page.
The Philhealth Electronic System can be found here. Please click “proceed” and “I agree to the conditions stated above and will comply to submit the required information and supporting documents to complete the registration.”
4. Fill out your pertinent information form.
To push through and register your Philhealth online, complete your Personal Information, Contact Details, Address, Dependent’s Information, Guardian’s Information and Membership Category Information.
All items marked with * are required.
Also, now’s the time to upload your documents! It says “optional” in upload, but I strongly recommend that you upload them already, especially your birth certificate.
Once you’re done, check the “Under the penalty of law. I attest that the information I provided in this Form are true and accurate to the best of my knowledge.” and SUBMIT.
5. Wait for Philhealth’s confirmation email.
You’re not registered yet.
Based on Philhealth’s email, you will need to click on a link to verify your registration. If you did not upload any document, this is the time to do upload them also.
Afterwards, you’ll be issued a Transaction Number: this is not your Philhealth number yet.
Based on my experience, I had to wait another 3 weeks before they sent another email to give me my Philhealth number. The email also contained my Member Data Record.
